If we do not receive settlement within the timescales detailed on the charging statement, the recovery process will be escalated. This will follow the procedure detailed within your consumer agreement or lease. Whichever applies, you should be aware that Data Energy act as a metering and billing agent on behalf of your managing agent and heat supplier. Our role is to raise charging statements and recover the money associated.
When charging statements are not paid within the defined timescale, you may find that additional costs are incurred during the recovery process; in some instances we may even withdraw the heat supply should accounts not be settled within a reasonable timescale, to avoid the debt increasing further. Where the supply has been withdrawn, it can take up to 7 days to reinstate the service. There will be costs applicable to both the withdrawal and re-connection of this service. All outstanding costs will be payable prior to the re-connection of the service.
